Corrections

Manufacturer documents are replaced in place, and capacities, dilutions and times have changed between revisions before now. A figure that was right against one sheet can be wrong against the next one. That makes corrections a normal part of the work here rather than an admission of disgrace.

Reporting one

Send it to contact@analogfixer.com with three things: the address of the page, the sentence you are challenging, and the document that contradicts it, identified by product and revision date. A pointer to the manufacturer’s current file is more useful than a description of it, since the question is usually which revision each of us is reading.

What happens to it

• A substantive correction — a figure, a source, or the scope a claim was stated at — is made in the article and recorded in a dated note at the foot of that article, and listed on this page.
• A typographical or formatting fix is made without a note, because nothing a reader relied on has changed.
• A correction that undermines a claim the argument depends on removes the article from the site until the claim is verified again under the editorial standards. While it is off the site, it is not indexed for search.

No corrections have been issued yet. When the first correction is made it will appear here with its date, the article it applies to, and what changed.

Drafts

Unfinished work is simply not on the site. An article in progress has no page and no listing entry until its sources are complete and its argument holds. That is different from a correction: nothing has been withdrawn, and nothing has been published in a form we would later need to retract.
